He started his career in 1988 as a sports writer at the Hickory, NC Daily Record, then rose to managing editor of the Gaston Gazette in Gastonia, NC.
“What an honor to lead a media organization with a legacy as strong as the Democrat. I can’t wait to meet every member of the staff and to dive into the market, learning about how the Democrat can best serve this great capital city.”
Foster received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, with a major in political science. Foster is married to former North Carolina District Court Judge Dina Foster, now an attorney in Florida. The couple have three children.
