Sprint details Galaxy S5, Gear 2 lineup launch plans

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas — Sprint will offer the Samsung Galaxy S5 for pre-orders beginning today. The GS5, along with the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit will officially launch on Sprint on Friday, April 11th.

The Galaxy S5 will be available in black and white, just like on AT&T and T-Mobile.

The S5 will be available with Sprint Easy Pay for $0 down, followed by 24 monthly payments of $27.09.

Here are the Galaxy S5’s specs:

  • 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display
  • 2.5GHz quad-core processor
  • 2,800mAH battery
  • 16 megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 802.11ac WiFi support
  • IP67 water and dust resistant

Sprint customers with the Galaxy S5 can also take advantage of Sprint Spark, an ultra-high-speed network that offers peak wireless speeds of 60Mbps in 18 markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Gear 2 lineup

Gear 2 Neo

The Galaxy Gear Fit will be available for $199.99, the Gear 2 Neo will be available for $199.99 and the Gear 2 will be $299.99.

The Gear Fit will be available in black with interchangeable straps in orange and grey.

Here are the specs for the Gear Fit:

  • 1.84-inch Curved Super AMOLED display
  • IP67 dust and water resistance
  • Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate Sensor
  • Typical battery usage: 3-4 days; Low usage: Up to 5 days
  • Bluetooth 4.0 LE

The Neo will be available in black.

Here are the specs for the Gear 2 Neo:

  • 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display
  • IP67 dust and water resistant
  • Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Heart Rate Sensor, IrLED (remote control)
  • Typical battery usage: 2-3 days; Low battery usage up to 6 days
  • Bluetooth 4.0 LE
  • The Gear 2 will be available in black and brown.
