LG introduces compact G2 Mini smartphone

SEOUL — LG announced their first compact smartphone, the G2 Mini, on Wednesday. The smartphone will be shown off next week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The G2 mini features these specs:

  • 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8926 / MSM8226 processor or a 1.7GHz Nvidia quad-core Tegri 4i processor
  • 4.7-inch qHD IPS (960 x 540) display
  • 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, SD card slot
  • 8MP/13MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera
  • 2,440mAh removable battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • Dimensions: 129.6 x 66.0 x 9.8mm
  • Weight: 121g
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, NFC (4G LTE version)

UX features found in the G Series of flagship smartphones are carried over to the G2 Mini including;

  • Guest Mode
  • Plug & Pop
  • Clip Tray
  • Capture Plus

The G2 Mini is also available in many variations including:

  • Single/Dual SIM
  • 3G/4G LTE
  • four vibrant colors

The G2 mini will begin its global rollout in March in the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Europe in black, white, red and gold.
